At Spanflug you can choose the optimal material for your turned and milled parts from a wide range of materials. Here you will find an overview of our selection of more than 50 materials for CNC machining available in our online shop. Further materials are available upon request.
Aluminum is a material that is very commonly used for CNC machining. Aluminum is characterized by a low specific weight (about one third of steel), high thermal conductivity and very good corrosion resistance.
Our aluminum alloys
Stainless steels (stainless steels) are high-alloy steels, which have a high corrosion resistance with good mechanical properties due to a chromium content of more than 10.5 %. The alloys we offer are suitable for CNC machining by milling and turning.
Our stainless steel alloys
In the area of low-alloy steels, we offer you the most common structural steels, free-cutting steels, case-hardening steels and quenched and tempered steels for turning and milling. These are versatile materials with good mechanical properties and low price.
Tool steels are characterized by high wear resistance, very good mechanical properties, low thermal expansion and high hardness and toughness. As a material for turning and milling, tool steel is used for a wide variety of applications in toolmaking (e.g. cutting edges, punches, inserts, molds, etc.). After turning and milling, tool steel components are often subjected to heat treatment.

Cast iron is an iron alloy with a high content of carbon and silicon. Cast iron has a lower density than steel, better corrosion resistance as well as higher thermal conductivity.

Most copper alloys have good machining properties and are very suitable for turning and milling. These materials have excellent sliding properties, good electrical conductivity, good thermal conductivity and high corrosion resistance.

Titanium is a high-quality material that is costly to manufacture and rather demanding to machine by turning and milling. However, it features a unique combination of high strength and corrosion resistance with very low density.

A wide variety of plastics with different properties are used for CNC machining with turning and milling. Plastics are versatile, electrically insulating and easy to machine.
