Fit Calculator: Practical Online Tool for Designers and Mechanical Engineers
Spanflug offers a fit calculator that allows users to quickly and easily calculate fits and tolerances for shafts and bores online. The results are based on the basic tolerances and limit dimensions according to ISO 286, the international standard applicable to this. The new online tool is available at spanflug.de/en/fit-calculator free of charge.
Spanflug supports designer, mechanical engineers and CNC manufacturing companies with digital solutions to make their daily work more efficient and thus save time and costs. As an additional offering, the Munich-based technology company and provider of a digital manufacturing platform for turning and milling parts has now launched a Fit calculator for CNC parts online. It allows the user to search for specific fit types, dimensions or tolerances and get quick results. For example, they can enter the nominal dimension of the hole and the required fit via the quicksearch function. From this, the software calculates all the required values such as upper and lower deviation or the tolerance center.
Alternatively, the user also has the option of searching for the appropriate bore or shaft via the "Basis hole system" or "Basis shaft system" tabs. These options are particularly suitable for the production of different types of parts in smaller quantities, as it s often required in tool and large machine construction. To do this, the user simply selects the type of fit - interference, transition or clearance fit - , enters the nominal dimension in the search mask and then receives suggestions for the fits of shaft and bore.
