The online manufacturing platform Spanflug, which specializes in CNC components, has expanded its range and now offers more than 40 materials, 14 different surface finishes and six heat treatments. This enables the Munich-based startup to issue an instant price for more than 90 percent of all customer inquiries. This comprehensive offering is available to customers of the Spanflug Shop as well as to users of the "Spanflug for Manufacturers" calculation software. The company will be presenting all this at Metav 2020 (10.-13.3, Düsseldorf) in Hall 1, Booth C98.
Spanflug has continuously expanded the delivery program and functionality of its manufacturing platform within the past year. With the newly added tool steels, transparent plastics, hardenable martensitic stainless steels and copper alloys, the range of materials covers more than 90 percent of all customer requests. Spanflug Managing Director Dr. Markus Westermeier explains, "If our customers need a material that is not yet listed, they can request it individually at any time. We will continue to expand our range to include additional materials in the future."
In the Spanflug Shop, customers can order their individual CNC turning and milling parts within one minute. To do this, they upload the CAD data as well as a technical drawing and within a few seconds receive a precise, market-driven immediate price staggered according to delivery date.
With the "Spanflug for Manufacturers" calculation software, CNC manufacturing companies have the option of calculating quotation prices for turning and milling parts fully automatically on the basis of a CAD model. The otherwise time-consuming price calculation for CNC components is thus completed with just a few mouse clicks without manual input and prior technical knowledge. Dr. Markus Westermeier explains "Our goal is to relieve manufacturing companies of administrative tasks so that they can reply quickly to customer inquiries and deploy urgently needed technical personnel for actual manufacturing tasks."
Spanflug will take part at Metav for the first time this year at the BMWi joint stand "Young Innovative Companies" in Hall 1, Stand C98. In addition, Spanflug's Managing Director, Dr. Markus Westermeier will be giving a presentation in the Future Area on March 12, 2020 on the topic of "How algorithms are changing the procurement of manufacturing parts".
